Job Details
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client is currently looking for an Procurement Assistant based at their prestigious facility in Port Sunlight. This is a full time temporary role for a period of 12 months (maternity cover), working a 37.5 hour week. This role is paying up to a maximum of £26,535 per annum pro rata, depending on experience.
Main Job Purpose:
Responsible for supporting the procurement of Capital Expenditure (buildings and equipment) / MRO goods and services, within area of responsibility, for the UK and Ireland Market.
Key Accountabilities
- Work within defined Procurement procedures (ways of working) and adhere to the Code of Business Principles at all times
- Support the Procurement organisation to meet goals and objectives
- Provide support to business stakeholders as required
- Manage Ariba Buyer Purchase Requests from the business, in line with agreed contracts
- Manage catalogues for the UK, providing support to stakeholders in this area, as required.
- Identify and implement new catalogue opportunities
- Provide support to Line Manager, UK team, and the wider European team, as required
Portfolio Management
- Support implementation and compliance to Portfolio strategic contracts
- Support Tactical and Strategic sourcing projects
- Support initiatives within the department to improve efficiency
- Support the delivery of business savings targets
Supplier Management
- Support the supplier selection process
- Manage the approval of new suppliers using Unilever's vendor system
- Manage and maintain contracts for the assigned spend and site clusters
- Address / escalate supplier non-performance as appropriate
Business engagement
- Work with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, providing support and guidance
- Ensure the satisfaction of our client's internal customers with the goods or services provided by the suppliers within the portfolio
- Support the management of compliance by business users to Procurement policies and contracts
Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications:
Essential
- Demonstrable procurement experience (2 yrs. +), including knowledge of tendering and the use of E sourcing techniques
- Must demonstrate excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. They need to be confident and able to work through any challenges they encounter.
- High level of analytical skills, and experience of using Microsoft Office work packages. Excel in particular as they will be required to produce Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPS and formulas.
- Able to prioritise and self-manage as at times the work can be very fast paced and working under pressure.
Desirable
- Business related degree or similar
- Experience of the procurement of indirect goods and services within FMCG, preferably within the Capital Expenditure (buildings and equipment) / MRO environment
- Ariba buyer and SAP experience
- Skilled in working across a geographically dispersed team (European team of 12, but 3 based in Port Sunlight).
