Job Details
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation; our client is currently looking for a Category Strategy Manager based at their prestigious facility at Blackfriars, London. This is a full time temporary role for a period of 6 months, working a 36.25 hour week. This role is paying up to a maximum of £35,000 per annum pro rata, depending on experience.
Business Context and Key responsibilities of the Job:
The successful candidate will be working in the Oral Care category strategy team, assisting the senior category strategy manager in key projects for the category.
Main responsibilities:
- Category Strategy | Leading specific Category Strategy projects. Preparing analysis & presentation for the Category (country docking, category Tribe, EVP meeting, etc.)
- Portfolio Transformation | Supporting Senior Category Manager in developing the oral care portfolio with winning flavours
- Working with cross-functional project team | Working with the project cross-functions (R&D flavour, procurement, finance, flavour houses, consultant)
- Working with brand teams| Liaising and working closely with brand project teams.
- Senior leadership | Updating project at the steercom, GCLT and other forums
Skills / Experience / Qualifications:
Interface: R&D Formulation, Procurement Supply Chain, Brand teams, Flavour houses, Finance, GCLT
This is a WL1 role. We are looking for a candidate that is highly motivated, curious and action-oriented.
- Experience in marketing (preferably global role), specifically in project management and/or innovation development (mix and formulation development)
- Bias for action: ability to multi-task and absorb a heavy workload in a fast-paced/high-change environment
- Strong project management & cross-functional team management skills
- Analytical and Strategic Thinking: able to provide clarity and consolidated view to a complex project with numerous brand projects and sub-activities, highlighting the key messages and milestones to ensure the project stays on track.
Ability to translating the project into Financial, and savings roadmap / financial impact at overall category level working with both procurement and finance teams
- Global mindset & Self-disciplined: autonomous, flexible and ability to work alone with remote project team, while at the same time, able to connect and drive global brand project teams
- Accountability & Responsibility
- Eye for details, organised, rigorous
- Proficiency in understanding and working with formulation R&D, procurement Supply Chain, P&L Finance
- Positive mindset, good with relationship management, strategic influencing, able to get things out of people not directly reporting to him/her
