The Role
As SHE Advisor, you will be highly technical, competent and professional in your role within the Metering SHE team. You'll provide pragmatic and proactive SHE advice and guidance to internal customers throughout our clients Metering business. You are responsible for helping managers address business risk by promoting a practical understanding across all SHE processes; this includes Working at Height, Contractor Management, Confined Spaces, COSHH, Manual Handling and domestic environment working.
You will be responsible for the development and continual improvement of the SHE elements of the Metering SHE Management System, including provision of information, instruction and training, as well as monitoring SHE performance and sharing lessons learnt from incident investigations. You will be required to contribute to an inclusive, effective and safe working environment by taking responsibility for your decisions and behaviours. You'll drive commitment and model behaviours by building relationships with key stakeholders including Regulatory Authorities, Industry Bodies, Contractor Management Teams and Operational Teams.
The role will ideally be based in our Peterborough Depot (South East region), however this could be flexible depending on your skills and experience, and willingness to travel.

You'll be a registered member of IOSH (or an equivalent organisation) with continuing professional development. You should have training and experience in incident investigation, and be able to anticipate the potential impact of new legislation.
You will have strong internal and external stakeholder management skills, to drive cross-business collaboration. You'll be highly skilled at providing advice, support and guidance across all aspects of SHE, to ensure our clients project and operational teams are best placed to manage SHE risk.
Able to identify business opportunities within your own area of expertise, you'll be skilled at writing clear, unambiguous technical documentation. You will have detailed knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques, including demonstrable experience of the application of ALARP risk assessment.
