Travel Team Leader - Milton Keynes, circa £25k
Overview:
Our client is currently in the process of recruiting for this exciting new role within their Traffic Team. Responsible for delivering service to a number of internal and external customers providing Traffic Information, Navigation/Routing services and Engineering/Contractor support.
Responsibilities:
- Managing budgets and costs effectively in respect of the planning process and ongoing COS within the department
- Responsibility for managing the day to day activity of the teams including (but not limited to) preparing and performing appraisals, disciplinary hearings and 1-2-1s
- Acting as a liaison to management and departmentally to provide reporting of metrics and performance, escalation and resolution and ensure aligned with business and departmental objectives
- Responsible for departmental recruitment identifying any skills gaps in the organisation and undertaking a recruitment programme to support this.
- Review of processes, working practices and regular reports, utilising Business Systems (FBS) in order to drive change and deliver results
- To meet departmental KPI's consistently using Daily Management to set and meet targets and SLA's
- Management of projects as and when required and account management of any allocated customers
- Production and review of processes, working practices and regular reports
- Liaising with and supporting other teams such as Sales, Support, CAMs to ensure good communication between departments
Requirements:
- Previous management experience is essential
- Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook & Access and have the ability to learn new software packages
- Ability to review/analyse statistics as required, problem solving adapting to the ever changing environment and reacting quickly to meet challenges
- Ability to plan strategically for department, constantly reviewing processes and implementing/driving efficiencies
- Building relationships within cross departmental teams and at all levels
- Coaching, mentoring and staff retention
- Presentation skills and delivery to all levels
- Product & market knowledge
- Time management
- KPI and Metric reporting to senior leadership team
- Electrical Engineering qualifications beneficial (in line with IET, JIB & NHSS requirements)
- Driving license is essential
