We have an opportunity for a telemarketing professional to join our client, American Express Global Business Travel (GBT), and their growing UK marketing team. This is a pivotal position, foundational to delivering key commercial and business objectives. You will be the bridge between acquisition marketing, inside sales and sales, responsible for refining pipeline and delivering sales-worthy leads. This is a 6 month position working Monday to Friday.

You will be GBT's brand on the phone, acting as the first point of contact for all new UK prospects and be a key member of our dynamic and fun UK team!

Key duties & responsibilities:

Targeting:

  • Work with Inside Sales Representative to:
  • Identify ideal customer profiles
  • Use available internal and external database sources to generate target lists of potential customers to populate both net-new and reactivate dormant pipelines

Research:

  • Research target leads to determine commercial viability, relevant decision makers and customer needs to build and maintain a meaningful and results driven conversation.

Telemarketing/Cold-Calling:

  • Own the 'first contact' experience for a customer, acting as the voice of American Express GBT.
  • Proactively contact prospects using multiple channels to establish a sales opportunity.
  • Conduct introductory calls to target list:
    • Confirming research and key contact
    • Establish rapport with prospects
    • Determine organisation needs and interests in managed travel
    • Introduce American Express GBT solutions, specifically our Business Travel Made Simple offer
    • Gather key information about the account to determine potential opportunities, customer needs, competitive situation, objections and effectively communicate how Business Travel Made Simple can meet these.
    • Use industry knowledge, marketing and company sales resources to demonstrate the value, benefits and ROI of our Business Travel Made Simple offer to the prospect: enroll prospects in events such as webinars, networking events or conferences and attend such events to network and research.

Warm handover:

  • Prepare and deliver qualitative and quantitative handovers of qualified leads to relevant Inside sales person, ensuring that they are aware of the nature of the prospects business, their needs and concerns
  • OR
  • Seamlessly hand over prospect portfolio to Marketing, with a full brief on insights collected during initial conversations with prospect/own research and ensure they are placed on the nurture campaign being run.

Reporting Data accuracy:

  • Accurately track all research, prospect interactions and information gathered using salesforce.com
  • Reports for manager on call volumes, success and conversion metrics.

Success Measures:

  • Meeting and/or exceeding lead generation targets as set by the Senior Marketing Manager - Acquisition Demonstrate quality of leads by ongoing pipeline progression and ROI.
  • Ability to articulate our value prop and key product information.

Essential core skills/experience

  • B2B Telemarketing/Cold-Calling experience.
  • Research and data gathering.
  • Proven track record of target based work Experience of objection handling and solution selling.
  • Previous knowledge of the travel industry an advantage but not essential.

  • Excellent persuasive and objection handling skills - particularly verbal.

  • Positive, passionate and resilient self-starter.
  • Self-motivated.
