An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Leading Global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Knorr, Persil & Magnum are currently looking for an Assistant CMI Manager based at their prestigious facility in Blackfriars, London. This is a full time temporary role for a period of 6 months working a 36.25 hour week. This role is paying between £31,600 and £37,050 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

Sunsilk, also known as Sedal or Sedã, is our client's biggest Hair Care brand. In terms of consumer reach it is the 15th biggest FMCG brand in the world, and 6th in the Personal Care & Beauty sector. It has a global footprint focussed predominantly in Latin America, South and Southeast Asia. The CMI function's mission is to show the business how and where to win. In this role you will contribute to delivering our mission by supporting a CMI manager in business partnering a marketing team. You will become familiar with a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods and as you develop you will increasingly be expected to run projects independently.

In addition to more traditional research methods, to thrive in this digital era brands must constantly monitor the social media landscape. CMI has a key role to play in using this data to help the brand make genuine connections with its consumers; respond quickly to any issues; identify short, medium and long-term category trends, and much more. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of turning digital Big Data into insight that helps the business grow. Additionally, we are looking for someone to take the lead in developing the digital methods, skills and capabilities of the brand and our client's Hair category as a whole.

This position would give you the opportunity to develop your skills as a researcher, make a real impact in the lives of the people we serve, and take a significant role in the development of our client's digital insight capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As Sunsilk Assistant CMI Manager your responsibilities would include:

  • Manage independently conversations with marketers and senior CMI colleagues, to land/persuade on the SSK CMI agenda and business recommendations to push forward
  • Build and give clear point of view on the outcome of the researches and business recommendations to push forward
  • Be able to work and build a relationship with teams and colleagues sitting across the world and working in different time zones.
  • Distilling insight from primary and secondary research and provide useful insights
  • Building knowledge of key markets, the category and consumers to inspire and inform global projects; including bringing in and feeding the nuances of the local culture
  • In conjunction with GlobalCMI manager, carrying out projects:
    • Defining the nature and scope of the analysis
    • Co-ordinating the project with the research agency
    • Managing project within agreed budgets and timings
    • Interpreting and communicating key findings/recommendations to the business
  • Work closely with CMIs Centres of Excellence and use digital data to identify trends, opportunities and threats
  • Work closely with Hair CMI Global Category lead in developing strategic thinking and consumer understanding to feed Hair USLP (Our client's Sustainable Living Plan) workstream.
  • Proactively seek out agencies and technologies to develop social listening and analytical tools
  • Developing your own research skills, making full use of: CMI Portal, CMI Guidelines tools and templates, Training opportunities, coaching/ mentoring from line manager
  • Building own understanding of key business processes e.g. Category / brand strategy, Integrated Brand Planning (IBP), Innovation and Renovation (IPM), Communication (IBC)

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree or equivalent
  • Proven work experience working in market research FMCG - either agency or client side
  • Experience in global or regional market research positions is of preference
  • Understanding fundamentals of research methods and use
  • Understands categories, brands and customers
  • Bringing consumer, shopper and market understanding to life
