For some of the manufacturing sites in the EMEA region, the production and material planning is done in Slough. To support this process we currently seek a proactive and accomplished

The core purpose of this role is to manage and optimize the raw and packaging material planning and to minimize supply chain costs within operational constraints. This requires a very high level of understanding of the trade-offs between service, stock and ordering costs, while managing all main planning parameters (like Safety Stock, Economic Order Quantity, etc.) as well as site and supplier constraints.

As such, the position is open to candidates with supply planning knowledge and experience, including a minimum of two years in a procurement and/or planning role within a high volume manufacturing environment.

Alternatively, you are a starter with a university degree in Business, Logistics or Science and/or a certificate in Purchasing Management/Diploma in Business Studies/Production Control (APICS), or appropriate training in production scheduling, materials requirements planning and stock control.

The position is based in Slough but you might be required to travel up to 4 times per year to Sassenheim, the Netherlands

Responsibilities and deliverables:

Within this context you 'own' the raw and packaging material planning for one of the UK factories and it's your responsibility to ensure the material. Your primary contacts are the production planners, who are also based in Slough.
This involves managing and reviewing requirement plans for materials. You also review MRP outputs to ensure adherence to MOQs and inventory targets. You monitor PO processes, ensure POs are created, approved and sent to suppliers in time.

In addition you follow up on open POs, expedite POs within the lead times, and maintain open POs in SAP, ensuring correct expected delivery dates.
This requires you to work with the suppliers and Planning teams to ensure that supplier capabilities are understood and respected.

At all times you identify and drive actions to continuously improve working capital reduction and materials availability. This involves the use of best practice technology and to support SAP users to ensure efficient and effective use of the SAP P2P system.

You communicate with Purchasing department about supply issues and ensure purchasing master data, such as purchase info records and source lists are maintained and updated by purchasing department timely.

Candidate profile:

*Two years of international experience procurement and/or planning within a high-volume manufacturing environment, or a degree in Business, Logistics or Science and/or a certificate in Purchasing Management/Diploma in Business Studies/Production Control (APICS)
*Solid understanding of warehouse flows, stock principles, and the ways in which these and related activities can be improved. Knowledge of SAP, in particular APO/PP and SNP
*Some financial understanding and experience is an advantage, as is knowledge of paint manufacturing processes, products, procedures and policies
*Team player with excellent communication skills and Health & Safety knowledge
