High Availability Engineer

Contract: Full time ongoing contract

Salary: £28,000

Other: Vehicle supplied and all tools equipment provided. A Full UK driving licence is required.

25 days holiday p.a. plus public holidays

The successful candidate will need five years Employment /Academic history and will be Credit and CRB checked.

Hours: Basic hours of work will be 40 hours per week between Monday to Sunday, plus night shift, evening/weekend cover as per rota

Purpose

Resolve clients' questions or problems and technical troubleshooting on a range of multivendor computer/server systems.

Serve as primary support liaison between company and customer.

Performs installs, moves, adds and changes as required

Takes responsibility for additional follow-up, testing and troubleshooting services or problem escalation

Profile

Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently

Maintains a high degree of professionalism in actions

Ensures a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the service delivery transaction

Flexible approach in out of hours/shift working

The role is based in Peterborough.

Standard hours per week are 40hrs mon-Sun - Various shifts to be covered on rota - including nights/weekends

Skills

Preferably has knowledge of some Enterprise products or equivalent multi-vendor systems or demonstrate transferable skills

• zSeries, pSeries, iSeries & xSeries
• Tape and Disk Storage products, thus allowing to
• respond to and troubleshoot technical service hardware repair requests, on enterprise-level servers. - Also, have knowledge on multi-vendor products would be an advantage:
• Enterprise Server and Storage products,
• DWDM, Cisco Network Products, NetApp products.
