My Client is a renowned manufacturer of automotive components, created to fully automotive TS16949 & ISO 14001 standards. In this ever growing sector, I am thrilled to be supporting a major growth campaign across several areas of the business, in particular their Engineer Team.
What will your day look like in your new role:
- Programme and re-tool a multitude of machine tools -CNC turning essential , CNC grinding & CNC milling along with a good understanding of fine finishing processes such as lapping & honing
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Provide training to setters and operators on machines/processes.
- Create related documentation of existing processes and implementation of new and existing innovations (drawings, SOP, work instructions etc)
- Plan & test product processes from enquiry into full production
- Design & re-design tooling & product related equipment.
- Liaise with suppliers and customers to optimise quality, tooling and machine performances.
- Resolve customer issues if they arise (8D)
- Work in teams to drive improvements, in productivity cost & quality.
- Monitor SPC & address areas of concern
- Identify suitable measurement methods for products
What will you need to succeed as a Process Improvement/ Production Engineer
- Knowledge of APQP requirements (FMEA, PPAP)
- Experience/ qualification in CAD package (Auto cad advantageous).
- Structured problem solving
- Minitab software knowledge
- Robot programming / use of
- Experience of welding processes
As Process Engineer/Production Engineer you will be aware in terms of output required against process reliability.
You react accordingly & apply logical methods to resolution of issues using data to ensure results.
you are an effective communicator, reporting to all levels in terms of sharing knowledge & providing progress reports on tasks undertaken.
You will use your resourcefulness at all times & question methods with a view to improvement
You will also have the capacity to work under pressure & achieve results that can be measured in cost & efficiency
You will also be driven to achieve the best results at all time & lead others to do the same
