Position - Pricing Manager

Salary - up to £50,000 pa plus company car

Location - Based from Peterborough however will only be required to be in Peterborough a few times per week


We are looking to recruit a Pricing Manager to work for my clients head office based in Peterborough. The client is happy for the successful candidate to be based anywhere in the country on the understanding that they will be required in the office at least twice per week



PURPOSE


  • Take ownership for delivering the Pricing Strategy, ensuring the successful implementation & best practice across the business.
  • The purpose of this role would be to increase branch margin, influence pricing and highlight how the pricing strategy can be executed through mix of products within branch.



Main responsibilities


  • Responsible for driving the pricing strategy to maximise profitability and best practice across the business.
  • You will need to develop, execute and maintain processes in direct response to market conditions and competitor price movements.
  • Lead process improvements and develop communications for all pricing matters (internal and externally).
  • Work closely with the 360 product and procurement teams ensuring any changes are fed through quickly and effectively to the business.
  • To regularly liaise with Business Managers to implement UK Pricing Strategy/Model.
  • Work closely with the business to ensure continuous improvement within data and processes etc.
  • Drive activities to improve/enhance commercial margin allocating targets for branches and products * Meet and exceed revenue targets for products
  • Define and implement price testing program to optimise mix of volume/yield, recognising the different characteristics of key customer segments (e.g. education, health)
  • Ensure pricing approach is co-ordinated with capacity and manpower plans, developed in conjunction with operations teams
  • Monitor competitor prices regularly, developing testing program to understand impact of different competitive strategies
  • Develop a program of AB price testing, including working with conversion rate metrics, to ensure prices are optimised for all customer segments
  • Ongoing implementation of automated pricing tools, in partnership with external consultants
  • Develop methodologies for assessing market share and competitor occupancy levels
  • Develop market segmentation analysis and reporting
  • Ad-hoc analysis as required
  • Work closely with finance to understand profit margins for each product, to inform an income maximising pricing approach
  • Actively participate in weekly trading meetings, ensuring wider team is aware of key results and market conditions. Work closely with colleagues in marketing department responsible for delivering online marketing campaigns and our CRM function
  • Work with IT team to develop our suite of reporting and insight tools
  • To work in a safe and sensible manner within the boundaries of the Company Health and Safety Policy and any additional site restrictions.

Work Experience:

  • Proven previous experience leading and executing price strategies ideally in a large, complex, multi-channel business.
  • Commercial acumen and demonstrable experience of delivering results by successfully executing price change/strategies.
  • A strong statistical background with the ability to manipulate data via spreadsheets.
  • Have the ability to present complex pricing methodologies in a 'simple to understand' way ensuring quick and effective decision making.
