An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue chip FMCG company, is currently seeking a Finance Analyst (CMCO) based in Blackfriars, London. This is a full-time, temporary role for a period of 6 months, Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week, to start ASAP. The role is paying between £31,200 and £37,050 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

The Chief Marketing and Communications office (CMCO) works at the interface of existing Marketing best practice and the incredible disruption caused by innovative technologies, new sources of competition and changing consumer expectations. It aims to ensure that the company gets to the future first by embedding the insights, tools and capabilities into our brand teams today. The CMCO is led by the Chief Marketing Officer and comprises expertise in Media, Consumer & Markets Insights, Digital Transformation and Sustainable Business.

The CMCO Finance team provides a pivotal & leading role in assessing the business proposals & projects and their value impact to the business along with presenting complex information in a clear, simple and actionable manner. The finance team partners with the functional heads, highlight insights and areas of focus around the company's investment in various projects & lead the target setting process for CMCO that are aligned to the long term financial strategy models e.g. Financial Growth Models and Financial Frameworks

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Strategic Projects & Analysis:

  • Support the Project Manager (PM) in landing the re-organisation oftheCMCO cost structure through support in the following areas:
    • Key role in the process of creating new cost centres & engagement with the master data team providing regular status updates to the PM & maintaining a detailed tracker.
    • Key role in managing the budget transfer process from CMCO to divisions & markets with controller's team. This covers the cost being transferred with detailed assumptions, transfer dates, road-map 2019-2020 & collating all sign-offs from the divisions & markets. Data integrity & accuracy is critical.
    • 2019 Forecast: Support in the collection of the forecasts from the divisions & markets in the past & new cost structure.
    • 2019 Stat Cost Submission: Support in the preparation of the Stat Cost submission & compile variance analysis of the costs as per the new cost structure

Business Partnering Projects:

  • Provide finance support for projects which are part of the company Leadership Executives' (ULE's) top priorities, e.g. COTC (Core of the Core), ZBB (Zero Based Budgeting), Digital 2.0, PDC (People Data Centres), U-Studios, Change Programs
  • Support the Information & Analytics teams to provide support in developing tools and reports

Ad hoc:

  • Fulfil all the relevant financial data requirements and provide any ad hoc support to the line manager on other projects from time to time

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Financial controls experience
  • Analytical accuracy is of utmost importance as this is high profile project with EVP's overlooking the change programme
  • Strong systems & IT applications skills, particularly PowerPoint & Excel (V look-ups, pivot tables, etc.), as this role is very Excel sheet-heavy
  • Ideally qualified/part-qualified accountant, or studying towards a professional accounting qualification, or other finance-related qualification/degree
  • Strong engagement and communication skills (business partnering experience not essential as long as these skills are present)
  • Very strong work ethic, resilience in the face of pressure, good team player, ability to meet multiple stretching deadlines, excellent communication skills and attention to detail
