Stores Team Leader

A Stores Team Leader has become available within a global manufacturer of bespoke machinery with a worldwide client base. Leading the stores team to improve working practices and ensure health and safety policies are adhered to, while ensuring all parts are transacted and located correctly as required by the production plan and ensuring stock accuracy is maintained to a level that doesn't impact production.

The Responsibilities:

  • To lead the team in the execution of stores tasks associated with materials receipt, flow and supply to internal and external customer/user
  • To lead the team to achieve the stores operational plan in all areas
  • To process raw materials, sub-assemblies and finished goods from Goods Inwards to production to physical despatch
  • To process finished goods from storage to despatch
  • Inventory control of all related processes
  • MRP system bookings of raw materials, sub-assemblies and finished goods
  • Operate stores equipment and machinery when trained to do so
  • Checking of goods receipts, issued stock and despatch loads for accuracy
  • To lead the stores team to ensure housekeeping and health and safety practices are maintained to a high standard in the stores area and support other departments as required
  • To be the main point of contact between stores and other departments, answering queries and attending meetings as required
  • The Requirements:

  • Previous leadership experience
  • Previous experience of delivering against company targets and objectives
  • Previous stores / warehouse experience
  • Good dexterity with the ability to handle a variety of parts including sheet metal, machined and electrical components
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Can read engineering drawings
  • Conscientious and responsible
  • Counterbalance forklift licence
  • Previous experience of transacting goods in a MRP system
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge
  • The Package:

  • Bristol Based - BS14
  • £25,000+ OTE
  • Monday - Friday, 39 Hours Per Week
  • 25 days + Public Holidays (33 Days Total) (28 days after completing 5 years' service)
  • 3% Pension Contribution
