Manpower is currently recruiting for one of the leading logistic companies globally. With their UK sites boasting year on year growth they're now expanding rapidly and are looking for an innovative Transport Shift Manager to join the team in Nottingham. The successful candidate will report into the Transport Manager and will be responsible for the operation of mixed shift patterns for 30+ drivers as well as 60+ trailers. Ideally, you will possess 2 years management experience within the logistics industry.

Main responsibilities:

  • Overall operational responsibility for a team of staff including Drivers and Transport Planners
  • Ensuring legal compliance with the O-license, H&S and company policy
  • Implement and manage KPIS within the department
  • Constantly analysing ways in which the operation can be improved, providing maximum productivity and ultimately providing savings to the customer
  • Taking responsibility for HR processes, reviewing staff performance and conducting disciplinary hearings as and when needed
  • Making sure that driver performance is in line with VOSA standards
  • Control costs in line with budgets and propose initiatives that will support cost

Requirements:

  • CPC Holder
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Experience within the logistics environment
  • Ability to build, lead and motivate a team
  • Excellent Maths & English
  • Ability to plan, organise and work towards strict deadlines
  • Experience conducting disciplinary hearings
  • Strong transport compliance knowledge
