Due to expansion our leading Nationwide client has a great job opportunity for an experienced Mechanic to join their Snodland branch.

As a Mechanic, your role will involve:

  • Diagnose faults on their fleet of motor vehicles and undertake necessary repair work
  • Service and maintain vehicles so they are safe and comply with all legislation
  • Carry out all legal inspections in line with company and VOSA guidelines
  • Complete the necessary paperwork and electronic records to the standards required
  • Mark and store correctly any warranty displaced parts
  • Identify chargeable work and report to the Workshop Manager/Supervisor
  • Identify work priorities and liaise with the Workshop Manager
  • Support and advise other members of the team including apprentices

The successful applicant will need to have the following qualities/skills:

  • Ideally 2 years or more relevant experience as vehicle mechanic
  • An NVQ, BTEC or City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in motor vehicle service and repair
  • A full, clean driving licence (an HGV licence is useful if you have one)
  • Electronic and diagnostic experience would be very beneficial
  • Able to thrive in a busy environment
  • Positive outlook and can-do attitude
  • A real all-rounder and team player
  • A good communicator who enjoys customer liaison
  • Familiar with the latest IT equipment and diagnostic tools

Your workload will be interesting and varied as they have a fleet of different vehicles from cars, minibuses and vans.

Salary: £26,500 plus overtime and quarterly productivity team bonus

Hours: 40 hours per week, early shift Monday-Friday 6am-2pm and late shift Monday-Friday 1pm-10pm. When you work the late shift, you will be required to work every other Saturday 8am-12pm and will be paid overtime which is time and a half.
