About the company
Our client is a worldwide manufacturer with a manufacturing facility within the Tyneside area. They supply clients across major industries and are one of the key suppliers to the Nissan factory. As a result of continued growth they are looking to appoint a materials development engineer.
About the Role
Working within the design and development team you will be responsible for the introduction of materials from concept through to production, you will primarily focus on polymers but will also be responsible for materials including textiles, and paint. You will create and maintain material standards with suppliers and strive to reduce cost when possible through commercial strategy or conducting material tests. You will act as the interface between suppliers and clients in regards to the materials used within production and any future requirements. You will be expected to perform all tasks to the companies own H&S standards
About you
You will be educated to degree level in engineer ideally within polymers/materials. You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience with plastics and have experience with the injection moulding process. You will ideally possess experience within the automotive industry or another OEM. You will be self-reliant and be able to continually analyse the manufacturing process for cost or production improvements.
