Job Details

Manpower are recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join the team for a global brand who produces the world famous Walls Ice Cream based in Barnwood, Gloucester.

Main purpose of the job and accountability

To take responsibility for unloading of vehicles and providing Production with the raw material requirements while working a 12 hour shift rotating work pattern. Your main duties will include:

  • Maintain a good standard of housekeeping and cleanliness both personal and work area
  • Achieving the targets and job standards set out by Stock Controller
  • Monitor and develop own skills and competencies in line with business needs
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, particularly the line teams, mix, stock controllers and Logistics
  • Ensures compliance to company policies and procedures e.g. Business Code of conduct, PC policy, site agreements, and employment contracts
  • Act safely and protect yourself and others

Skills and experience

Ideally, you will have previous experience within the general running of a warehouse environment. You will bring with you, a willingness to learn and a positive 'can-do' attitude. You will be a confident and clear communicator with a strong team ethic.

  • **A current fork truck license would be preferred**
  • **Previous warehouse experience essential**
  • Preferred knowledge of SAP
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, and to deadlines
  • Good attention to detail
  • Must be flexible to work weekends and change of shifts as required
  • Basic Computer Skills

Other Duties

  • The successful candidates will also be trained and expected as needs of the business dictate, work within other departments as and when required.
