Great opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work for our client based in Reading!! Do you have a background in Mechanics and engineering? Do you have a good level of experience in this field?

Do you have an Electrical Background? Do you have Contractor knowledge and have had experience with working with on £2Million project plus? If so this could be the perfect opportunity for you!!!

Whats in it for you? 37hrs a week a salary between £35k-55K (very much depending on previous experience ) Flexible working you will need to be based in the office 2-3 times per week but can work from home.

The role is to support the Regional Commercial Manager in the implementation of the commercial support service within the region for M&E works, in line with the strategy. Provide commercial support including in developing the commercial strategy for specific project/s or contract/s by maintaining and maximising profitability. Provide support to regional stakeholders on general commercial matters in order to reduce risk across he business.

Key accountabilities understanding and negotiation of contract terms for projects and specific risks this may place upon the business, prior to any agreement of contract / amendments and ensuring these are commercially mitigated during duration of the project. Advise and implement the appropriate procedures in line with the contractual obligations throughout the project in order to mitigate and protect from risk. Presents to operational teams the risks and T's & C's

Liaising with relevant operational management to have a continual understanding as to contract administration status of specified projects with respect to; applications, certifications, payment received, timeliness of delivery, quality of delivery and tender allowances.

Responsible for the preparation and submission of applications for payment for specified project/s or invoices on time with appropriate substantiation of CE's / Variations

Production of cash flows and ensure payments are administered in line with the contract ensuring protection to the business.

Ensuring that the internal reports of the projects are accurate in respect of risk, costs incurred, projection of costs to spend, contingency and liabilities, sales declared and consequently profit declared. Able to present clear reports. Drive improvement in accuracy and robustness of forecasts and budgets by working closely with the Operations Manager for all PFIs. Challenge for realistic deliverability.

Support in the implementation and embed processes to improve contract profitability and control of how we manage contractors. In consultation with appropriate operational management and/or Regional Commercial Manager, prepare on a progressive basis and settle project accounts with clients at a level that does not negatively impact internally declared sales and settle Subcontractors accounts within internally declared allowances

Proactively provide sound commercial knowledge and support as required to all internal stakeholders as required. Support the operations team in working with our clients. Good client relationships are critical within the business and the commercial team can support with contractual and financial expertise.

Deputise for the Regional Commercial Manager when required.

Business Knowledge, Comprehensive commercial understanding (cost, value, cash)

Contract price build-ups (rates, overheads, profit) Proven experience in managing Contractual relationships - how to manage clients, customers, contractors. Demonstrate contractual knowledge - ability to read and understand contract clauses and documents.

Essential Functional / Technical Skills. Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying. People management skills.

Computer literate, in particular MS Excel. Mathematically proficient
