MARINE CONTROLS & LOGISTICS TRAINER

Salary:

£29,240 - £31,367 pa

Hours:
Mon-Thurs: 8:30am - 4:15pm
Friday: 8:30am - 3:30pm

General Description of Role:
To deliver high quality practical and theoretical training in Electronic systems on behalf of Defence College of Technical Training.


Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Managing and instructing trainees in Controls and Diagnostics to Foundation Degree level in accordance with approved instructional specifications and SULSO procedures.
* To advise Training Design where training material requires development or revision and to provide SME input to training design as required.
* Ensure that lesson plans and training sessions are developed in accordance with the approved syllabi.
* Review course content to ensure it is current and evolves to support equipment advances and technologies using most appropriate training aids. Where this is not the case provide detailed input to Course Design.
* Provide coaching and mentoring of trainees to best support their learning experience.
* Ensuring trainee development through monitoring, feedback appraisal, ensuring all supporting documentation is maintained and that any special student developmental needs or training delays are raised with the Lead Trainer.

Essential
* Minimum of City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ 3 in relevant subject matter.
* Experience of applying engineering principles practically in a technical environment.
* Consolidated experience (within last 5 years), or directly employed in electronic engineering principles within an Engineering environment.
* Proficient in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplace (Moodle, Power Point) to support delivery of training. (In house training supplied to support this.

Desirable
* Training experience of technical subjects in a military environment (in last 5 years)
* Have a good working knowledge of H&S legislation as it applies to the teaching environment.
* Previous Controls & Diagnostics experience in a military environment or school/ college.
* Experience in the development of controls and diagnostics engineering based training courses.
