HR Employment Policy Lead

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Leading Global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Knorr, Persil & Magnum are currently looking for a HR Employment Policy lead based at their prestigious facility in Leatherhead. This is a temporary role for a period of 12 months, working 4 days per week (29.5 hours). This role is paying up to £50,000 (FTE) per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.
Background and purpose of the job
The Employment Excellence team is all about setting the employment framework for all UK employees, building the capability of the HR community in the UK, mainly in the area of operational excellence, and taking the lead in employee relations and employment law.
The Employment Excellence team works as a collaborative group, but your area of focus will be the development and maintenance of our suite of UK HR policies.
What you'll do
We are continually reviewing our UK employment framework, making sure that we're creating the right environment for our employees.
Developing and implementing a new policy requires a wide range skill including researching the law and external market, managing stakeholders, getting buy-in to your ideas, creating compelling documents and working with colleagues in other teams to operationalise the policy.
As well as developing new policy, existing policies need to be continually maintained, ensuring they are up-to-date and error free. This includes associated documents such as letters and guidelines used by ES HR Services
We share our policy framework with our employees via our SharePoint, so this role has responsibility for developing and maintaining the UK pages of My HR.
This is not a back-office role. Educating our large HR community and sharing best practice on UK policies and supporting them with query management is a key part of what you'll need to do.
What you'll need to succeed
- A background in HR with a good knowledge of employment law
- Great communication skills, including excellent written English
- An analytical and enquiring mind
- Strong IT skills, particularly Word and PowerPoint and ideally SharePoint
- Experience of working in a large complex organisation, ideally with exposure to shared services
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
