Join one of the world's largest express delivery companies as a Loading Bay Operative, working from Milton Park, Oxford. This is one of the central hubs to our client's delivery network.

You'll load and unload packages from company vehicles, scan, sort and label them as required, and report any issues that arise - such as damaged packages or prohibited items. Maintaining our clients excellent standard of service to their customers.

Key Activities / Accountabilities

  • To handle consignments in the warehouse in order to meet the on-time connectivity targets and processes.
  • Unload and load correctly consignments as per company procedure: e.g. right stacking and sequencing to ensure no damages occur to customer goods and TNT or subcontractor equipment.
  • If applicable: Perform Check Weigh Cube
  • Correctly unload consignments as per company procedure.
  • Sort consignments.
  • Label consignments.
  • If applicable: Ensure all unknown shipper consignments are X-rayed; X ray all unknown shipper consignments.
  • Scan inbound and scan outbound consignments and pieces.

Operations

  • To report any damages, and to assist with repacking as necessary
  • Comply with regulatory (e.g. Aviation, security, customs, dangerous goods) policies & procedures.
  • Perform all aspects of check, perform bagging as per procedures.

Consignment discrepancy follow-up

  • To follow-up on consignments status as a result of internal customers queries or a reported discrepancy.
  • Perform warehouse searches.
  • Detect and report discrepancies including:
  • Missing or incorrect paperwork
  • Unsendable consignment
  • Undeliverable consignment
  • Badly packed consignment
  • Damaged goods (including reporting and DUC entry if applicable)
  • Unknown shipper
  • Prohibited items
  • Prohibited destinations
  • Awkward freight

Dangerous goods handling

To comply with dangerous goods regulations in order to provide a safe working environment for self and all the hub employees.

  • Comply with the Dangerous Goods regulations.
  • Comply with all the TNT related Dangerous Goods policies, procedures and legal requirements.
  • Check and report all Dangerous Goods consignments in line with the DG policy and procedures.
