HGV Mechanic

Manpower working in partnership with Calor Gas are looking to hire a Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician for a permanent role at Port Clarence.

Duties will include carrying out maintenance, repairs and modification working on Calor's fleet of vehicles and trailers and providing technical support, from fault analysis through to completion.

Key responsibilities will be to:

• Carry out general maintenance repair work on the company's fleet of vehicles and trailers
• Ensure all vehicles are in safe working order
• Carry out all repairs to the highest standards
• Carry out in-depth engineering work and diagnostics
• Carry out all repairs in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation and company policy
• Operate all relevant equipment, machines and tools safely
• Complete associated documentation

To be considered for this role you will

• Be educated to City & Guilds standard in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline is essential
• Have experience as a HGV Mechanic working within a similar position
• Be able to demonstrate strong working knowledge of vehicles, trailers, workshop plant and equipment
• Have the ability to resolve mechanical / electrical / pneumatic problems
• Have the ability to multi task and achieve key deadlines
• Be able to operate individually or within a close team
• Be able to demonstrate rigorous fault finding skills
• Have the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Be able to demonstrate good communication skills
• Be able to work under pressure
• An HGV C+E licence Class 1 and a current ADR would be desirable..
