My Client is a worldwide manufacturer of energy efficiency products & due to major growth plans I am looking to introduce a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (60/40 electrical bias) on a Day Shift to join their progressive Engineering Team. The purpose of the role is to maximise availability of plant equipment through effective preventative and reactive maintenance processes, with experience of a manufacturing environment & knowledge of maintaining PLC's, pneumatics & hydraulics.

You must have completed an apprenticeship with full experience as a multi skilled engineer with an electrical bias & 17th edition certification, & ideally an ONC qualification in a Technical discipline or suitable knowledge through experience.

The role is offered on a day shift & pays £37k approx. plus addition bonus scheme

What will your day look like:

  • Ongoing maintenance of the plant, performing planned preventative and predictive maintenance tasks and efficient response to plant breakdowns.
  • Planned electrical and mechanical routine maintenance tasks to ensure plant machinery is running effectively and safely. Ensure routines are completed thoroughly and efficiently and suggestions for improvements made to line manager.
  • Use of SAPPM system to interrogate the Bill of Materials list to identify if spare parts exist and their location in the engineering stores. Filling out of requisition slips so that accurate records are kept of all time and materials used. Reporting of planned/unplanned & follow actions via SAPPM and ensure all SAP PM & Corrective Work orders are closed off in a timely manner with the correct level of feedback.
  • Application & compliance of Company's Health & Safety and Environmental Policy and Procedures so that a safe and secure environment is maintained.
  • Ensure LOTO sheets are adhered to and suggest improvements where required.
  • Utilise LMRA process for adhoc tasks with no defined WI
  • Regular support of the Engineering group by following all financial control procedures ensuring an accurate and up to date spend vs. budget.
  • Actively engaging in plant continuous improvement activities & down time reduction
  • Continually review work content of maintenance routines to maximise effectiveness by suggesting improvements to the maintenance planner.
  • Work alongside the Engineering Manager in keeping the Site, buildings and fabric, physical infrastructure and Manufacturing and Assembly assets and equipment, in a well maintained and safe condition by reporting issues and carrying out remedial repairs where possible.
