Fabricator for submarines - full time - Plymouth

Manpower is excited to be working with our client to find a Fabricator for submarines in their offices in Plymouth. Our client is an international engineering business who is highly regarded in their sector. This is a full time role contracted until July of next year with an immediate start date. The pay rate is between £13- £19.03 an hour dependent on experience.

About the role

In the role of fabricator your main duty will be to undertake structural alterations by following engineering drawings on naval surface ships and submarines. This duty will require you to work within multi- trade teams to co-ordinate these structural alterations. Alongside this duty you will be carrying out surveys and pre-sit examinations of bulkheads and marine structural systems. This role will also require you to manufacture structural modules from engineering drawings. You will be required to fabricate or alter structures in a variety of metals and thickness.

About the candidate

To be successful in this role you must have previous fabricating experience, with the relevant certification. You must be competent at burning and the use of oxy- burning tools. With the ability to use general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the roles such as grinders or disc cutters. The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient with the ability to manage their own work load. You must be time and cost efficient with an eye for detail. This role has an immediate start so having a short notice period would be preferable.
