Fabricator (warship) - Full time - immediate start - £13-£19.03 per hour

Manpower is excited to be working with our client who is an International and multinational business within the engineering sector. The title of the role is a warship fabricator. This is a full time position that shall take place at their offices in Plymouth, with an immediate start date. Currently the contract is till July 2019. The pay for this role will be between £13-19.03 dependent on experience.

About the role

Within your role as fabricator your main responsibilities will be to undertake the structural alterations by following engineering drawings on naval surface ships. To complete this duty you will be working within multi-trade teams to co-ordinate these structural alterations. Other duties will include carrying out surveys and pre-fit examinations of bulkheads and marine structural systems. Alongside these duties you will be required to manufacture structural modules from engineering drawings. This role will require you to fabricate or alter structures in a variety of metals and thickness.

About the candidate

The perfect candidate will have excellent time keeping skills with a good eye for detail. You must be competent at burning and the use of Oxy - Fuel burning tools. The ability to use general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the roles such as the use of grinders and disc cutters is essential. Previous experience is required, with the relevant certification. This role has an immediate start, so a short notice period would be preferable.
