Materials Planner

Materials Planner

We are looking for a Materials Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate needs to be very well organised to schedule the right materials to be in stock for production requirements and correct stock levels. You will need to have an excellent telephone manor to create and develop relationships with suppliers/clients and ensure the correct materials are ordered and in stock.

Key responsibilities include:

• General Task Management, to order the right amount of stock
• Access stock requirements to create the right assumptions
• Management of deliveries and stock shortages to try and minimise material shortages
• Managing production timescales of orders to completion
• Negotiation skillsYou will need to be able to generate stock forecasts to ensure they reflect the requirements demanded. It is important you can work well in a team but also be proactive and engage participation from others. You must be self aware and collaborate with others and have strong analytical, planning and problem solving skills. It is important to have a keen eye for detail.Your experience required is:

• Previous experience of materials planning ideally in a manufacturing environment
• CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement & Supply essential
• Good understanding of supply chain processes
• Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous Salary: £20,000 - £25,000 DOE

Hours of working:

Monday - Thursday 9.00am - 5.00pm / Friday 9.00am - 2.30pm

20 days holiday a year plus Bank Holidays
