Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue chip FMCG company, is currently seeking a Supply Chain Project Manager (Food) based onsite in Burton. This is a full-time, temporary role for a period of 12 months, Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week, to start ASAP. The role is paying a salary of up to £55,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

Background

In January 2018, our Client announced its intention to close their Norwich Sourcing Unit in the UK and transfer production to five different sites as part of Project Red Sea. Project Jewel, the largest branch of this, focuses on the construction of a new 12,000m2 modern production facility and subsequent transfer of Colman's processing and packing to Burton-on-Trent. The organisation model developed has identified the need for an end-to-end project management role to oversee the transfer of mustard. The candidate will be responsible for project managing the successful transfer of one packing line and three process plants to Burton.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end supply chain change management of wet mustard production from its current location in Norwich SU to Burton-upon-Trent SU. This will include leading a cross-functional team from engineering, operations, planning, R&D, procurement, engineering, HR, SHE, quality and various 3rd parties.

  • Co-ordinate and lead a cross-functional team from inside and outside of our client towards agreed budget, savings, timing and quality objectives.
  • Ensure that the project is delivered within a sharply defined scope and that resources are allocated to delivery within this.
  • Highlight resource requirements and escalate gaps to PMO.
  • Apply rigorous change management procedures to ensure scope is controlled.
  • Chair weekly cross-functional meetings to update stakeholders on progress, risks, next steps and required support.
  • Develop and update the detailed project plan.
  • Hold key stakeholders and project members accountable for delivery.
  • Drive the project through the Unilever EEM framework to ensure a rigorous implementation process.

Subject to performance and your ambitions, there will be a further potential opportunity post-implementation to become line manager for the installation.

The candidate must have:

  • Prior project management experience of a large supply chain project
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in supply chain
  • Strong organisation skills
  • Strong communication skills across a variety of mediums
  • Experience of working in FMCG
  • 10% Travel required to Norwich Site

The candidate would preferably have:

  • Food technology experience
  • Prior experience in a "lift and shift" project
  • A technical background - engineering / science degree or similar
