An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue chip company, is currently seeking a Project Management Analyst based onsite in Port Sunlight, Wirral. This is a full-time, temporary role for a period of 8 months (possibly longer), Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, to start December 2018. The role is paying up to £35,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

The Project Management Group, (UPM) helps to make our client faster, more agile and more competitive. UPM supports this directly through making New Product Development and Business Transformation projects more successful and more agile.

UPM drives project delivery in a dynamic and international environment offering project management as a service. The UPM projects range across new product development, major business transformation and supply chain improvement projects. This role sits in the Practice Team who are responsible and accountable for driving improvement in the adoption of project management standards.

Main Purpose of the Job:

The individual is responsible to manage deployment of the UPM Processes and Project Management Methodologies. The role holder is responsible for managing the end to end process from initial scope definition to full activation.

This role also includes improving the Phoenix tool by analysing business requirements, documenting processes and designing solutions. You will work closely with the lead contacts for each business area to recommend and implement process and design improvements. (Phoenix is our client's version of Microsoft Project Online)

The role requires a strong focus on users and the technical aptitude to work with technology teams. Experience of working on projects such as New Product Development, Supply Chain Improvement projects or Business Transformation Projects is an advantage

Key accountabilities:

  • Manage project timelines and coordinate deployment of the tool to new business areas and project programmes
  • Actively reach out to the business areas to review existing system parameters and identify new opportunities / enhancements to empower them to deliver on their KPI's
  • Collect data to monitor and report on UPM and Practice Team KPIs
  • Drive and manage changes effectively and smoothly, defining and co-ordinating change management activities.
  • Document, review and improve processes for development and deployment to new business areas and projects
  • Key point of contact for business areas into UPM, representing the business areas in project and phoenix forums
  • Operational responsibility to manage and improve key operational processes within the team for example management of licences and access for the phoenix tool, onboarding of new project management resources and project workstreams

Experience and qualifications required:

  • Degree or NVQ level 4 Engineering, Business, IT
  • Experience of developing and managing procedures for operational processes
  • Experience of leading and delivering projects
  • Collating and manage reporting information in an accurate and timely way
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to work across teams and to influence others will be key
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages i.e. Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project

Preferred:

  • Experience of delivery of New Product Development and / or Supply Chain Projects
  • Agile Methodology or Project Management Certification
