Manpower are pleased to be recruiting for a Part Time Administrative Assistant for our busy client based in Luton. This is a part time, temporary position assisting the Project Manager starting immediately!

Hours of work are 14 hours a week (two days) with some evening work required and is initially for a 7 month period with the potential to be extended.

The salary will be £9 per hour.

Holiday Entitlement: 28 days per annum (pro-rata)

Main Purpose: To provide project admin support to programme Manager in delivering Power to Change community business activities

Role and responsibilities:

  • Previous administrative experience preferable
  • Take responsibility for the preparation of marketing materials and arrangements for conferences and seminars, including booking venues and transport as necessary, arranging catering and ensuring large mail out deadlines are met.
  • Produce content to update websites, newsletters, marketing material as appropriate in order to inform businesses and partners of developments on community businesses.
  • Be the first point of contact for all enquiries relating to community business activities and initiatives
  • Confident communicator - Excellent marketing, written and oral communication skill
  • Be proficient in the use of MS Office and IT skills (Power Point, Word, and Excel, mail chimp)
  • Be responsible for administration related to the project and assist in developing effective marketing and communication tools to help build community business movement locally.
  • Good time Management
  • Develop database and maintain contacts with the local residents, business community and partners ensuring this meets GDPR requirements.
  • Proficient in the use of social media - Twitter, Facebook etc.
  • Assist in producing relevant reports for the Board, PTC, setting up and maintaining project admin record systems including monitoring and analysing the project finances; assist in making quarterly claims and ensure effective processes are in place for this purpose.
  • Assist in PR and in organising public, partner's meetings/workshops and taking minutes/notes as needed
  • Disseminating/collating information to programme participants, PtC and partners as directed by the Programme Manager; Utilising partner resources including TWINE, Locality, PtC, LBC and others.
  • You might be required to do some street leafleting and face to face community engagement and there will be occasional evening working required.
