My client is one of Britain's biggest suppliers of electrical & mechanical workshop tools and machinery.

They are currently in the market to add to their successful company with an experienced Stock Controller/Analyst UK in their Essex branch.

The successful candidate will be based in Epping and you will be responsible for optimising and managing the performance of the Supply Chain function

It would be an advantage if you had experience within the following markets of automotive, hire, builder's merchants and industrial supplies.

You will be reporting directly to the Finance Director working contracted hours of 8:30am to 6pm Monday to Friday.

The basis salary ranges from 35k to 40k with 20 days holiday.

Main responsibilities:

Processing:

  • Initial sign off of P.O's
  • Run daily files and Monday upload procedure
  • Expediting and de-expediting orders
  • Contact suppliers to confirm shipment dates and input/amend arrival dates on the system
  • As key point of contact, liaise with senior managers and main external suppliers to:
    • coordinate activities during periods of increased sales activity
    • ensure timely and efficient flow of information
    • maintain proactive communication
  • Price list/Catalogues - work closely with Marketing
  • WEEE Directive
  • Val Pack Returns

Reporting:

  • Use market conditions and historical data to analyse stock levels and forecast future demands. Control the information flow to Buyers for a stipulated group of suppliers and products to determine future buying quantities
  • Produce periodical reports for the Sales, Buying and Marketing teams to help target their promotions
  • Produce the monthly PI report
  • Produce the month end stock reports and KPI's for the Financial Controller
  • Produce adhoc reports when requested

Maintenance & updating:

  • Stock master file maintenance and PIMS
  • Manage the Sales Inventory Monitoring Systems to maintain optimum product profiles throughout the store and warehousing network
  • Control the phasing in and out of seasonal and new products whilst maximising availability and sales opportunities
  • Control the management of the internet & telesales stock availability flags to maximise sales opportunities whilst minimising customer disappointment
  • Regular reviews of over-stocked items
  • Development of new systems, work practices and controls with the General Manager
  • Use Excel and stock system skills to continually update and improve system and processing efficiency.

Stock takes:

  • Annual stock take count at NDC - Assist with warehouse physical inventories and subsequent reconciliation (off site) and manage any discrepancies appropriately
  • Produce year end stock take reports and update system
  • Perpetual stock counts with NDC
