A national institution are looking for telephone operators to work in Papworth around 20 hours a week
1 Responding to switchboard enquiries and queries from suppliers and staff/customers and provides assistance and advice when required
2 Operate a 24 hours Hospital switchboard service including emergency calls.
3 Assisting the Estates management, and prioritising the reporting of faults to either staff or the web base reporting form.
4 Issuing keys to secure areas including staff and visitor accommodation.
5 Provide card issuing and unblocking services out of hours for Trust wide systems
6 To act and stand in for line manager as and when directed
7 Provide supervision and support to new starters and colleagues on
Essential skills include:
The ability to communicate basic or sensitive information to colleagues, patients and relatives
Able to organise, prioritise and adjust own workload in relation to the priorities of the department on a daily basis
The ability to suggest changes to own practice
Previous switchboard operator experience is preferred
Demonstrates personal duty of care in relation to the safe use of equipment and other resources
Maintains the quality in own work
