An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Leading Global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Knorr, Persil & Magnum are currently looking for a Global Strategy Manager based at their prestigious facility in Blackfriars. This is a full-time temporary role for a period of 12 months, working a 36.25 hour week. This role is paying between 53,600 and £67,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience. Or Ltd contractor up to a maximum of £334.13 per day.

Background

We're looking for an experienced marketer to join the Global Strategy Team for one of our largest categories in the Beauty and Personal Care Division.

The category has a portfolio of outstanding brands and a strong track record, being the fastest growing global business in the sector over the past 5 years. It is a very fast paced and innovation driven category with a very high degree of consumer engagement. It has an energising, consumer centric purpose and offers talented people the opportunity to shine, make a real impact on consumers globally and build important business and personal skills.

In this role you will be part of the Cat Strat team, a small, close knit team of people that is focused on the following 3 broad areas:

- identifying category growth opportunities to build early cross-brand strategy and solutions

- driving strategy execution in partnership with a set of top markets through portfolio analysis

- building fundamental areas of capability/expertise like new/disruptive innovation process, media strategy, channel prioritization for the category.

It is a high visibility role where you will be interacting with peers across the global category network, having regular exposure to the EVP for the category, the Global Category Leadership Team (GCLT), and business leaders (CCBT leaders) in selected markets.

Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the category annual strategic review process. Identifying new growth opportunities, a detailed review of category performance, trend and competitor analysis and presenting findings to GCLT.
  • Support the execution of the category strategy, including: anchoring a growth pillar, structuring innovation targets for it and presenting progress updates in collaboration with relevant brand directors, identifying ways to continuously improve results from the category innovation program
  • Lead cluster and key market engagement, responsible to co-develop portfolio strategy with the CCBT leader, plan all cluster and country engagements for the category
  • Lead one of the core strategy growth pillars - consumer groups, market development, naturals, premiumisation, margin improvement, sustainability

Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications:

  • Analytical skills - very strong analytical skills to leverage data into actionable insight
  • Communication - strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation
  • Strategic Influencing - Confidence to use sound logic and detailed analysis to influence direction in conversation with senior stakeholders like Country/Brand VPs, EVPs.
  • Thriving in ambiguity - most of the work done by this team is up stream in nature, looking at novel opportunities or challenges and requires structuring a nebulous opportunity, building frameworks to address them.
  • Organization/Attention to Detail - outstanding organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple overlapping priorities to meet key deadlines, whilst ensuring high quality output.
  • Global mindset - genuine interest in learning about and understanding global, regional, and local markets and their consumers, shoppers, retailers, and competitive dynamics
  • Externally focussed - obsessed by market, consumer and customer trends with an eye to convert them into tangible business opportunities.
  • Team player - effective team working, providing support as and when needed, even when outside of job scope.
  • Building talent
  • Functional experience - typically marketers looking to build strategic/big picture skills have done well in this role but the role is also ideal for a functional or strategy specialist looking to broaden their business knowledge and skills

Passionate, Analytical, Flexible and Problem Solvers looking to make a big(ger) difference are the ideal fit. Personal Care Category experience preferred but not essential.
