Breakfast Chef (Part-Time)

Manpower is currently recruiting for a part-time 22.5 hours per week Breakfast Chef to work the Oxford City Centre. You will report directly to the Head Chef and work closely with the Kitchen and Food Services Team. Hours will be Monday - Friday 7am - 11.30am and some additional hours / weekends hours may be required at busy times. The main purpose of this role will be to work with the Chefs and the Senior Chefs to prepare high quality food, breakfasts within College

Main duties will be included:

  • Works on own initiative, taking responsibility for own work in the absence of more senior members of the kitchen team
  • Takes responsibility for the forward planning of meals, particularly breakfast, and preparation of quality food within the College
  • Plays a role in determining how food should be presented and creates decorative food displays
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant food preparation and College rules and regulations
  • Complies with current legislation - Health and Safety and Food & Beverage policies, standards and procedures and taking full responsibility for food safety
  • Recognises superior quality products, presentation and flavour
  • Supports the Head Chef and kitchen colleagues with regards to breakfast and food preparation
  • Prepares food items in accordance with College activity with particular regard to portion control and batch cooking
  • Prepares and cooks high quality breakfast dishes as required by the College
  • Conducts their work in a timely manner and in accordance with standard recipes or following the guidance of the kitchen management team
  • Understands the impact of the department's operation on the overall running of the College
  • Informs and/or updates the Head Chef, peers and team on relevant information in a timely manner
  • Immediately reports all damages, breakdowns, defects of equipment, utensils and fabric of working environment, to the appropriate department
  • Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene and presentation

Works closely with the Food Services Team to ensure quality, standards and expectations of the College are met on a daily basis and bring about improvements in service levels The full time equivalent salary range for this role is between £20,836 p.a. and £24,029 p.a. The actual salary for the part -time hours is between £12,021 and £13,863 p.a
