Manpower UK are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager on behalf of our client who is a recognised UK Leader within the Energy/Utilities Industry.

Working as a Business Development Manager and reporting into the Lead Project Development Manager you will be responsible for identifying heat and distributed energy opportunities, managing clients and wider stakeholder relationships and leading bid and development teams to secure long term agreements to own and operate heat networks and distributed energy infrastructure across Scotland.

The role will develop a wide and close network of client and other stakeholder relationships to ensure awareness and influence on market and policy drivers across Scotland. The role will be the main client interface through the bid phase and leading contract negotiations to contract close. You will manage supporting teams to ensure that bids are delivered on time and positions taken during negotiation are signed off by the business. You will be responsible for achieving internal approvals in line with our client and business governance processes and deliver a sales target of completed contracts per year.

Skills and Experience

You will have a broad understanding of engineering systems and performance of assets in a heat network and energy centre together with wider distributed energy. In these sectors you will have proven experience developing new business and seeing the projects through to completion.

You will understand pricing, programme and contracting arrangements for design and build projects including financing opportunities.
