An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue chip IT company, is currently seeking a Deskside Support Engineer III to support multiple customer locations within the M25 boundary. This is a full-time, temporary role running for 6 months with potential to extend to 12 months, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, working between the core hours of 0800-1800, but with the understanding that core hours may stretch between 0600-2200, to start ASAP. The role is paying £25.00 per hour depending on experience (Umbrella/Ltd contractor).

The role will require the successful individual to do the following; responding to requests, building, configuring and installing new Workstations, Desktops, Laptops and tablet devices in a very busy and demanding environment. The engineer will contact associates for their PC hardware and software requirements, to build new Laptops and Desktops, copy user data to new PC as well as installing at the desk and wiping the HDD off the machine.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Software and system fault diagnosis, analysis and fix.
  • Respond to all email requests regarding Refresh issues.
  • Take responsibility for stock used and follow the correct procedures regarding stock management.
  • Use of Service Now ticketing system
  • Build new machines within the time scales provided by the Team Lead
  • Install additional applications on the new equipment
  • Copy locally saved data to new device
  • Acknowledge and respond to emails
  • Arrange dates and times with users for their incident resolution and installs
  • Ownership of all user problems through to completion.
  • Risk awareness of technology and business impact.
  • Proactively keeps customer updated with problem status at all times.
  • Identifying and reporting risk as appropriate in accordance with the guidelines

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • You will need to undertake clearance and pass the checks before you can start in the role (carried out via the company), which will include an in-person document check.
  • PC/Desktop Support knowledge including Windows XP, Windows 7, 8.1 & 10 & Windows Office Suites and core application suites.
  • Administering Windows Share\File permissions.
  • Mobile connectivity (E.g. secureID/MAS)
  • Microsoft Certification (MCSE/MCSA/MCP's) desirable.
  • Knowledge of SCCM desirable
  • Good knowledge of H P, Dell & Lenovo H/W with the ability to resolve HW issues
  • Accepts and handles responsibility.

  • Willing to learn new skills and work through accreditation.
  • Works with minimum supervision.
  • Solves personal and professional problems.
  • Microsoft Windows XP/7 and office applications.
