An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue-chip IT company, is currently seeking a Solution Delivery Lead based at their Leading Software customer site in Newbury. This is a Full-time, permanent role, start ASAP.


Our client is a leading infrastructure software company with global scale. The Group is the seventh largest software company in the world, the largest technology company listed on the FTSE and the largest UK technology company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. They specialise in managing predominantly mature infrastructure software assets which have been delivering value to significant numbers of customers over long periods of time.

We are therefore looking for Candidates to assist our client in the Data and Business Intelligence domain who have experience in playing key roles on similar size and scale programmes. Working in a dynamic fast-moving environment, the candidates should be self-starters, able to provide perspectives and guidance based upon a proven track record of delivery. Preferably experienced in directing and challenging System Integrators.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, and contribute to detailed project plans. (developed by Programme or 3rd party)
  • Review the planning, analysis, design, development, implementation, and satisfaction of project requirements of the 3rd party delivery team on behalf of the client
  • Provide management and strategic direction to the 3rd party project team and support them in the project development, budget and schedule. Contribute to establishment of goals, negotiates project commitments and develops project plans
  • Review and gain approval of project scope definition on behalf of the client. Coordinate development and approval of the business and technical requirements documents
  • Coordinate the formulation and definition of technical scope and objectives in collaboration with the client and 3rd party technical subject matter experts
  • Support the resolution of issues that may not have an established precedence
  • Represent the client with 3rd parties, contractors, suppliers, customers, departments, and other parties as required
  • Coordinate activities of the client project personnel and wider business resources, including outsourced or offshore staff, to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget. Adjust project plan / activities / schedule as required
  • Monitor, measure, and report on project progress to management
  • Provide feedback to 3rd party project team and to project leadership, adjust company staffing
  • Manage multiple projects, participate in team members formal assessments; Oversees company Project Team, managing and mentoring other team members

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

  • Experience creating a detailed project plan which includes; charter, scope, project management approach, management plans, statement of work, cost estimates, schedule, performance measurement baselines, milestones and target dates, risk management plan, quality management plan, project change control plan, open issues, action items, and supporting detail
  • Experience in working with, advising and managing 3rd parties in successful delivery
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and staff of all levels
  • Knowledge of project management best practices
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Problem solving / analytical skills, tools and techniques
  • Effective decision-making skills
  • Project Manager: BA / BS degree in CS (or equivalent background); 5+ years' experience IT project management experience

Preferred:

  • 5+ years' experience in Data & Business Intelligence programmes with significant project responsibilities
