An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue-chip IT company, is currently seeking 2 Solution Architects based at Leading Software customer site in Newbury. These are Full-time, permanent roles, to start ASAP.


Our client is a leading infrastructure software company with global scale. The Group is the seventh largest software company in the world, the largest technology company listed on the FTSE and the largest UK technology company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. They specialise in managing predominantly mature infrastructure software assets which have been delivering value to significant numbers of customers over long periods of time.

We are therefore looking for Candidates to assist our client in the Data and Business Intelligence domain who have experience in playing key roles on similar size and scale programmes. Working in a dynamic fast-moving environment, the candidates should be self-starters, able to provide perspectives and guidance based upon a proven track record of delivery. Preferably experienced in directing and challenging System Integrators.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to simplify & standardise complex concepts / processes
  • Translates business requirements into functional and technical specifications and design documents
  • Advises the system integrator/ 3rd parties on the logical and physical system design, and ensures design is consistent and well-integrated with existing company conceptual, logical, and physical architectures
  • Fosters and encourage solution reuse within business units and at the Enterprise level
  • Analyses and estimates feasibility, costs, time, and resources needed to develop, and implement application systems
  • Research and evaluate software technology, products, and solutions, and make recommendations on technology/production introduction, phase out, and retirement
  • Encourages, facilitates and enables the integration of applications, services and business processes using common methods
  • Develops, maintains, and communicates processes and standard practices related to the design, development, and implementation of application solutions on a project basis
  • Assists in application portfolio management, standards development, maintenance, and governance
  • Works as a virtual member of the Enterprise Architecture team as needed

Decision Rights:

  • Solution requirements and technical preferences, aligned to company enterprise architecture
  • Provide feedback to 3rd party project team and to project leadership, adjust company staffing
  • Manage multiple projects, participate in team members formal assessments; Oversees Project Team, managing and mentoring other team members

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

  • Experience creating and reviewing detailed solution architectures and associated design documentation based on functional and technical requirements. Assessing solutions for architectural integrity, scalability and sustainability including adoption and use of Micro Focus and industry best practice.
  • Technical Solution Architecture and frameworks e.g. TOGAF/Zachmann
  • Integration Technologies - Informatica/Mulesoft/Talend
  • Master Data Management technologies - Informatica/Talend/Profisee
  • Industry best practice including Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Application / product feature design and specification
  • Cloud computing / SaaS / IaaS / PaaS technologies
  • Application Configuration
  • Data, BI and Analytics domain expertise
  • Data Architecture & modelling
  • 5+ years' experience in Solution Architecture of Data & Business Intelligence solutions in the Technology/Software industry

Proposed Metrics and Accountabilities:

  • Ensures solutions meet business requirements
  • Authors architecture blueprints that establish the specific standards and patterns that will be used by development teams.
  • Works with the business to define solution and technology road maps
