Your new job

Your new role as Design Engineer will be based in Plymouth. In this busy and dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to work with several separate departments in the business. You will have daily contact with the Design Manager. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of new products: primarily but not exclusively mechanical and sheet metal as well as development of effective working relationships with customers who are household names in the IT and Social Media networks. You will have access to a vast amount of design tools such as DFMEA and Six Sigma tolerance analysis. You will also participate in exciting design reviews.

About the ideal candidate

This is a great opportunity for a candidate looking for a challenge with a company that is going from strength to strength. You will ideally have the following qualifications and experience with a BEng in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent, used Creo 3 and/or Inventor CAD, worked in a Design Office within a Sheet Metal manufacturing environment, have knowledge of Electrical or Cooling systems design, incorporated design for Manufacture and Assembly into Engineering Design. However this is not essential.

The interview process will consist of a short telephone conversation with me initially before your CV is sent over to the client. If shortlisted after this stage, there will be a two stage interview process with different managers to ensure we have the right fit.
