MENTOR IN RESIDENCE AT THE BIRMINGHAM SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN

Joining the Birmingham School of Architecture and Design as a Mentor in Residence you will be responsible for mentoring undergraduate students and supporting academic staff with module delivery within design studio.

We have two positions of 3 hours per week for a maximum of 14 weeks for each of the courses listed above.

You will be a Masters student currently studying in the Birmingham School of Architecture and Design who has a passion for your discipline and a keen interest in academia. These appointments are part of the School's innovative "Hot House" initiative which is a School-wide strategy to foster emerging talent, in this instance, potential Visiting Tutors and staff of the future.

As a Mentor in Residence you will be expected to:

• Assist with studio sessions
• Be a positive role model for your mentees, providing academic advice and motivation to succeed
• Work closely with an academic mentor

It is essential that you have a relevant degree and have the ability to be a positive role model for current students.

Interviews will be held with course leaders and staff as well as with the School's Student Success Adviser in the coming weeks for an immediate start.
