Are you an experienced facilities maintenance technician looking for your next role? Would you like to work for one of the fastest-growing utility companies in the UK? If so, our client may be looking for you!

As a Mobile Facilities Maintenance Technician for the Southern UK, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, cost-effective maintenance of the client's assets and equipment across the Reading and Thatcham area with occasional travel to other sites across the Southern UK. This will involve the service, repair and installation of a variety of building services across the client's corporate suites such as Air Handling Units, Air Conditioning Systems, Generators, Boilers, UPS Systems and Fire Alarms.

Skills and Experience

Extensive experience within a similar multi-trade role is essential, and you must be at least qualified to City & Guilds Level 3, and compliant with 17th/18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations. Experience with domestic water systems would be highly advantageous, as would IPAF, PASMA, gas safe or plumbing.

As an ambassador for the department and business, the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders is crucial. You must therefore be a reliable and effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. You will also have the ability to make decisions, work within a team and on your own initiative.

Due to the mobile nature of the role, a full clean driving license is required, as is a degree of flexibility to ensure the client's customer base is effectively supported with their service requirements. This may include an occasional need to support clients on a nationwide level, which may involve overnight stays. Access to a company vehicle will be provided for travel between sites. Due to the reactive nature of the role, there will be a requirement to be available on a standby/emergency callout basis.

You must be familiar with Microsoft Office and CAFM packages.

Remuneration and Benefits

The salary is up to £30,000 dependant on experience and, in addition to a competitive salary, you will be automatically enrolled into the client's Group Pension Plan and have their opportunity to join their share plans. You will enjoy a generous annual leave entitlement of 34 days (inclusive of public holidays), with the option to buy up to 10 extra days. Each employee is also entitled to one day paid volunteering, allowing you to dedicate your time, skills and expertise to your local community or a charitable cause as part of the client's "Be the Difference" scheme.

The closing date for submission of CVs to the client is Sunday 17th March, and successful candidates will be subject to some pre-employment checks.
