Caretaker
We have a fantastic opportunity available, Manpower are recruiting on behalf of our client in Cardiff for a part time Caretaker. We are looking for motivated, hardworking and reliable individual to join the team.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled individual to carry out general caretaking and janitorial duties in respect of chambers' premises together with some administrative duties.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance jobs as required.
- Keeping the front the rear of the building clear of debris, any litter/waste. This will include sweeping and jet washing when required.
- Painting
- Carpet cleaning
- Replacing bulbs and tubes in light fittings as required (working at height training required)
- Emptying confidential waste bins into shredding bags for collection (manual handling training required)
- Polishing brass work and bannisters - waxing/polishing conference tables.
- Cleaning windows (working at height required - no higher than ground floor)
- Testing fire alarms periodically
- Assisting with removals as and when required - clearance days or general movement
- Keeping the refrigerators both up and downstairs clean and tidy - defrosting intermittently
- Putting out supplies of tea, coffee milk etc for drinks machine in reception area
- Keeping water machine and drinks machine overflow wells clean and in good working order
- Putting away new stationery as and when delivered from suppliers
- Making local deliveries and collections of bundles from local areas within walking distance
- Drilling required (for example to put up signs/pictures/notices)
- Flexibility to change hours and help with seminars/functions later in the day on an ad hoc basis. At these times manoeuvring boxes and catering tables will need moving around the building.
- Adhere to our non-disclosure contractors agreements and to reporting any data security breach immediately
- Generally assisting barristers/clerks and the chambers manager with necessary tasks as required
In order to be successful in the above position you will be a friendly, reliable, self- motivated, approachable individual. You will need to have some experience and a basic food hygiene certificate would be desirable however we can provide an online course for you to complete however full training will be provided.
This is a temporary but ongoing role offering £7.83 per hour. The working days Monday, Wednesday and Friday between the hours of 8.30 am - 12.30 pm.
