Shift Manager

As a Shift Manager you will hold ultimate responsibility for safely managing the daily activities of the factory across the 2 shift operations (0600-1400 & 1400-2200) and provide support to the Production Manager in meeting production, quality and safety and improvement targets.

What will your day look like as Shift Manager?

  • You will demonstrate high personal standards and visible leadership with regard to Q-EHS
  • Control the safe operation of personnel and equipment within the department by ensuring that methods, procedures and working practices are adhered to and reviewed for suitability as required.
  • Work in conjunction with the Production Manager, Production Scheduler and QC Manager to prioritise and allocate resources in order to meet customer demand.
  • Audit procedures and processes and carry out root cause analysis to improve quality, efficiency, productivity and safety.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects and propose improvements to efficiency or Q-EHS
  • Motivate the workforce through engagement and formal/ informal communication to maximise performance
  • Monitor compliance of data capture processes
  • Provide KPI feedback on production performance
  • Ensure shift status and performance adequately communicated/ handed over
  • Assist in the disciplinary process by carrying out stage one investigations and / or stage one disciplinary as necessary.
  • Identify potential skills shortfall, create and implement training plans for employees, ensure records are up to date and monitor the skills balance across the shifts
  • Work as part of a team to identify and implement improvements to production working practices to minimise environmental impact and encourage sustainability.
  • Ensure the highest standards of housekeeping through 5S principles by audits and monitoring
  • Issue documentation for permit to work and lock off procedures
  • Carry out the role of incident controller as part of the emergency response team.
  • Highlight unsafe conditions and shut down any activity if it is operating in an unsafe condition taking reasonable care of oneself and others. Comply with Company Health and Safety policy and all Company procedures / rules that apply to your role.
  • Adhere to the Company code of conduct and promote Company values and culture
