This position provides an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to work in a well-established company. As Head of Maintenance you will be expected to lead maintenance within the 24 hour manufacturing environment.

As Head of Maintenance Engineering you will oversee the leadership and management of a team of up to 16 multi-skilled engineers who work across a range of shifts duties will also include:

  • Contributing to the development and ensuring the delivery of departmental strategies and objectives.
  • Delivery of departmental KPIs including machine availability targets.
  • Effective management of key resources including plant, equipment and spares.
  • Effective management of key processes including TPM, Planned Maintenance and OEE.

To be successful in the role of Head of Maintenance Engineer you will ensure adherence to all legal and organisational health and safety requirements. You will also be expected to have the following skills and experiences:

  • Minimum of IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
  • Experience of working within and supervising Health and Safety systems within a Maintenance environment.
  • Maintenance Engineering Apprenticeship / Qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering at a minimum of Level 3 / HNC.
  • Extensive training and experience of maintenance and fault diagnostics in mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, electronics and PLCs.
  • Training and qualification in Lean business improvement techniques at level 3.
  • Implementation of Lean systems and improvement tools within a Maintenance environment.
  • Training and use of formal problem-solving activities such as 8D.
  • Minimum of CMI Level 3 Supervisory Management qualification or equivalent
