PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS A LONG TERM TEMPOARY CONTRACT WITH MANPOWER AND IS BASED IN BRISTOL CITY CENTRE (THERE ISNT ANY COMPANY PARKING AVAILABLE)

Our client, one of the UK's leading energy providers, is looking for a Project Support Officer (PSO) to join their Central Frameworks Supply Chain / Commercial team in providing commercial support to the technical engineering, project delivery functions of a large and complex construction project.

Nature and Scope

The PSO will provide support to the project by managing a variety of standard business and commercial processes / systems / tools and liaising with appropriate external suppliers and internal stakeholders as required. The PSO will also provide management information to other project teams/functions to ensure that the current portfolio of contracts are correctly utilised and managed and that the relevant project procedures, processes and policies are adhered to.

Main Responsibilities

This support includes but is not limited to:

  • Advising internal customers on the appropriate process to meet their needs.
  • Raising task and/or purchase orders for the spending of monies on professional services.
  • Ensuring that accruals/goods receipts are in place.
  • Processing Applications for Payment from Suppliers within the Central Frameworks Portfolio.
  • Working with the engineering functions within the business and with suppliers, administering the process from initial requests through to contract instruction placement and payment of invoices, liaising with both suppliers and engineers, and maintaining database entries.
  • Working with other team members to ensure processes are efficient and meet business needs, inputting to process improvement work, and updating supporting documentation.
  • Ad-hoc support, in line with Business need.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience

Experience

  • Previous experience of providing high quality proactive support to others in a business environment.
  • Strong numerical skills, able to interrogate, analyse and report data.
  • Good experience of Microsoft Office software in general, must include some experience in the use of Excel for reporting and analysis.
  • SAP (Procurement) knowledge and experience.

Skills

  • Ability to complete tasks to deadline.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, identify problems and solve them.
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to actively build and develop strong working relationships across a variety of diverse teams.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to learn new processes and tools quickly, not afraid to be in the 'deep end' to start with.
  • Flexible, adaptable and speedily reactive to urgent situations.
  • Good attention to detail.
