An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Leading Global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Knorr, Persil & Magnum are currently looking for a Global Food Systems Sustainability Senior Manager based at their prestigious facility in Blackfriars, London. This is a full-time maternity cover role for a period of 12 months, working a 36.25-hour week. This role is paying between £56000 - £65000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience, plus a £7200 per annum car allowance pro rata.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of Unilever's strategy specific to the delivery of nutritious food from sustainable supply chains and the reduction of food waste (both at a consumer level and across supply chains).
  • Utilize your expertise to support the senior stakeholders with insights (orally or via position papers, etc.) that will shape business plans and strategies, key messages, and participation in high profile, external engagements/forums (e.g. WEF Davos, United Nations General Assembly, Consumer Goods Forum, Food Reform for Sustainability and Health (FReSH) SDG 2 Advocacy Hub, Scaling Up Nutrition ,etc).

  • Provide strategic counsel and insight to the divisions, functions, and markets as part of their strategic planning and day-to-day operations.

  • Ensure alignment with colleagues in leading work in Environment, Sustainable Sourcing, Global Nutrition and R&D on the 'big' global trends related to food systems, nutrition, and where / how foods are sourced.

  • Manage leading signature global partnerships around transforming food systems.

  • Refresh Unilever's Disaster & Emergency Response strategy further refining infrastructure to streamline efficiencies and increase impact.
  • Engage and cultivate relationships with a broad network of external stakeholders - with a focus on, but not limited to - NGOs, Governments, funding bodies, social enterprise institutions, and thought leaders - to gain insights, 'bring the outside in', shape policies/reforms, and identify business opportunities that will drive our sustainability agenda by growing our business, building our reputation, and driving transformational change.

  • Manage a select portfolio of global partnerships (existing and new) designed to contribute to our targets, drive business growth, and enhance Unilever's leadership position in Sustainability.
  • Partner with the Funding lead to expand the impact of the afore mentioned partnerships through securing external, 3rd party funding, to create greater scale and impact and ensure sustainability of Unilever's work beyond our funding.
  • Represent Unilever as an external spokesperson undertaking speaking engagements externally on panels, roundtables, etc.

ESSENTIAL

  • Ability to lead global teams within a highly matrixed organization.
  • Ability to create briefings for Senior Stakeholders to deliver at world events.
  • Extensive experience in leading/building 3rd party relationships to advance a specific business agenda.
  • Ability to influence individuals with whom there is no direct reporting relationships (internal and external)
  • Proven experience engaging/collaborating with NGOs, UN Agencies, as well as the private sector to deliver programs that deliver social impact and contribute to business growth.
  • Knowledge expertise in Food Systems and Food Waste, the SDGs and the inner workings of the international development community is required. Knowledge of global Disaster & Emergency Relief and the Refugee Crisis is beneficial but not required.
