My client is a leading supplier of NMR systems and services, superconducting magnets and helium-free cryogenic systems. They are now looking for an NMR Business Manager to develop the end user service support market and provide hands-on technical expertise and technical support for the users of Bruker spectrometers. Key Responsibilities
- Working with the Managing Director and Business Development Director to identify and enable commercial opportunities within the Bruker user base
- Establish costing models for Bruker NMR system service contracts, reactive servicing, planned and preventative maintenance, customer support and system repairs
- Create and maintain a database of potential Bruker customers/ users
- Help to build relationships within the Bruker user community
- Take responsibility for managing the Bruker NMR service team
- Represent at international conferences, as and when required
- Work with the team to help finalize the establishment of an NMR applications laboratory
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the applications laboratory
- Act as the principal scientist in developing NMR pulse sequences and experiments for potential customer
- Provide applications support for Bruker and Q.One systems
- Host visits from potential Bruker and Q.One customers
- Customer training, maintenance, fault-finding and technical support for Bruker spectrometers
- Liaise with customers and colleagues in the site planning process prior to installation
- The occasional installation and commissioning of Bruker NMR systems
- The occasional setting up and cooling of superconducting magnet systems
- Carry out procedures necessary to validate systems
- Provide technical input to the sales team
- Some travel within the UK, Ireland and Europe will be expected

Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an NMR systems installation engineer
- Preferably with several years of Bruker NMR systems up to and including the AVANCE II and AVANCE III systems
- A tertiary level qualification in electrical or electronic engineering, physics or a related discipline or be able to demonstrate a similar level of knowledge and skill gained by practical experience in the Magnetic Resonance field.
- A solid technical or scientific background gained in industry or academia
- A current driving license valid in the UK
You will receive a very competitive salary and company card. You must have Bruker Biospin knowledge to be effective within this role. The working hours are flexi with ore hours of 9-3 and ideally for the initial period of this role you will be based at head office for a few days per week. This is a full- time role with a company car and a salary of £45-£55 dependant on experience.
