Mechanical Technician - Ongoing contract - From £12.50 p/h

Manpower are pleased to be working with our client to find a Mechanical Technician for a ferry company based in Plymouth. If you are looking for a new full-time opportunity and have experience of working with in the marine industry this might be the role for you.

About the role

In the role of Mechanical Technician, you will be working on a local ferry system as an active part of the of the maintenance and repair team. You will be working on all mechanical elements on the boats including working on the D12 diesel engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and the boats VTAS system. Experience with bench fitting and welding is also desirable.

About the candidate

To be eligible for the Mechanical Technician role you need to of completed a relevant engineering apprenticeship up to level 3, experience of working with engineering drawings and working knowledge of workshop machinery and safety precautions. For this role you will be required to ascend and descend narrow stairs and be required to work in confined spaces.
