We are looking for a warehouse operative with a counterbalance forklift license to work at a busy automotive manufacturing plant near Guildford.
Key Job Functions
Picker/Packer
- Picks products according to the order, either manually or with electronic scanning device
- Checks items against either the Packing List or the Bill of Materials
- Lifts, stacks and arranges products on pallets ready for shipment
- Generates labels and prepares all relevant paperwork for order shipment
Line Runner
- Acts as prime materials interface between relevant departments, addressing any material-related issues promptly and efficiently
- Checks availability of kits with the kitting team
- Supplies material kits to production lines in a timely fashion
- Targets 100% material kit supply, and issues any shortages promptly to designated lines
- Tracks all material kit shortages and ensures Line Supervisors are aware of shortages and expected delivery dates
- Actions any line-issued material damages and liaises with Stores and Materials staff to ensure prompt replacement and correct recording
- Liaises with Production/QA staff regarding any material rejects and targets prompt replacement
- Escalates any shortages in line with process
- Ensures kits are issued and located in designated Production build areas
General
- Maintains effective stock control at all times
- Completes GRN of stock received from suppliers
- Administers all paperwork and delivery notes as per defined procedures
- Reports stock discrepancies
- Receives and issues purchased components and services into the computerised stock system
- Undertakes daily materials handling equipment safety checks, logging any fault or repairs needed, and completes relevant paperwork
- Ensures all activities are undertaken in a safe manner and reports any incidents, accidents or near misses in line with process
- Takes personal responsibility for following safety rules and SOPs
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area
- Performs all other duties associated with the role, as assigned
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have the following attributes, skills and experience:
- Prior warehouse experience within either manufacturing or distribution industry
- Valid counterbalance forklift license is desirable, but not essential
- Methodical approach to work
- Well-organised and focused on service delivery
- Able to work well under pressure, prioritise and multitask
- Able to work unsupervised and meet set deadlines
- Meticulous in work habits
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- IT literate with basic arithmetical skills
- Flexible, can-do attitude
