My client, a leading energy supplier based in barnwood, Gloucester, is looking to recruit an Operational Support Assistant to join their Graphite Technology sector. The Graphite Team consists of around 50 people whose role is to support and develop safety cases to allow safe operation of the Nuclear AGR Fleet. The team has a breadth of responsibilities including project and operational work and is a busy team to be part of. This role is to support the group with some key areas as outlined below and also to provide some general administration support.

PLEASE NOTE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE WORKING ON AN ONGOING TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT WITH MANPOWER

Key Responsibilities:

  • ManagementofONR interactions across the Graphite Programme
    • Meeting organisation (to include meeting arrangements, agenda and pack production, minutes)
    • Effective tracking of Graphite Programme ONR commitments (note that this will be across the Graphite Branch and the Safety Case branches)
  • Management of Graphite Branch Export controls
    • Application information
    • Maintain files
    • Prep for audits (every 6 months)
  • Monitoring Assessment Panel (MAP) and Graphite Assessment Panel (GAP) Assistance
    • Chasing MAP actions and MAP validation across 6 stations
    • Pack printing
    • Possible minutes of GAP
  • Corrective Action Process
    • Oversight of AMS actions on behalf of the branch
  • General admin
    • Arranging meetings- action tracking
    • Travel booking and expenses
    • Student and new starters help
    • CDMS document loading, task file creation and document numbers
    • SharePoint
    • Support to SAP and MyHR within Graphite Branch
    • Business Unit Approver
    • Update teams extranet page
  • Support to Regional Portfolio Managers (details still to be defined as this new role is currently being introduced)

Key attributes of the person appointed to the role will be:

  • Organised
  • Pro-active and driven - hard working
  • Flexible and willing to support where required
  • Able to work as part of a wider support team
  • Willing to learn

Key skills:

  • Reasonable standard of written English
  • Microsoft Office, Powerpoint and Word
  • Microsoft Excel (with an ability to generate spreadsheets which carry out straightforward equations and produce charts)
  • AMS user (type of software)
  • Good communication skills
