Role Summary & Project Description

  • The management of raw material warehousing, raw material inventory and internal logistics operations.
  • Leadership, management and development of area supervisors.
  • Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of team members and anyone else entering their areas of responsibility.
  • Ensuring the continuous supply of materials to the manufacturing processes.
  • Management of all inbound material movements.
  • Working with key stakeholders to ensure an inventory profile appropriate to achieving internal customer service levels, whilst achieving annual inventory targets.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial controls and budgetary requirements.
  • Working with key stakeholders to drive the continuous improvement of all key processes and systems.

Essential/Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to build strong rapport / trusting relationships across the business.
  • People leadership, management and development.
  • Sound knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Experience of managing within a warehousing, raw materials inventory control and/or internal logistics environment.
  • Experience of managing Safety, Health and Environment systems.
  • Strong record of continuous Improvement.
  • Sound knowledge of SAP.
  • IOSH managing safely certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience of working within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of material control systems e.g. Kanban.
  • Strong customer focus
  • Excellent organisational, planning and scheduling skills.
  • Forecasting and Budgetary management.
  • IT literate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, flexible, self-motivated and able to drive activities through to conclusion.
  • Procurement and materials management.
  • Warehouse operations.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Project management.
  • MCIPS, APICS CSCP, APICS CPAM, CMI level 5, Business Administration level 5 or equivalents.
