Procurement Support Officer
6 month temp contract
£19,600
Based in Stockport
- Respond to telephone/e-mail requests from staff in a timely manner
- Prepare and process quotations from approved suppliers
- Prepare and issue purchase orders to suppliers
- Ensure that orders are delivered in line with requirements and agree service levels
- Process order amendments including the down valuing of purchase orders
- Maintain a clear audit trail of the order process
- Liaise with Finance and operational teams as well as external suppliers
- Provide support and cover for the rest of the purchasing team as and when required
- Effectively resolve invoice queries with the Purchase Ledger team
- Respond to telephone/email/online requests from employees in a timely manner
- Ensure that orders are delivered in line with requirements and agreed service levels, and that a clear audit trail of the order process is maintained
- The day-to-day management of the supplier registration and accreditation process. Ensuring all supplier insurances and other statutory certification are current and up to date
- The process of registration of all new suppliers on to the supplier database and their ongoing maintenance
- Managing the supplier complaints (NCR) and corrective action processes; maintaining the NCR register, following through corrective actions and reporting results
- Strong IT knowledge - particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Good numerical skills are essential
- Experience of high volume date input
- Experience of working within a fast paced purchasing/procurement environment
- Ability to work in an accurate and timely manner
- Experience of JBA/AS400 is advantageous
- Always identifies possible near misses and hazards in their work place
- Responds to customers' day to day needs promptly and courteously
- Keeps customers informed on progress and outcomes
- Builds effective relationship with colleagues
